Orthos Projects having such a diverse portfolio are able to turn their knowledge and expertise to many industry sectors, and providing turnkey solutions to the building materials industry is an area that we are quite familiar. We have a long associated history with various building material manufacturers, such as roof tile, concrete block, brick, cement, dry mortar, lime mortars, sand drying, bagging plant, insulation materials and other related industries with the many different process facets involved.
For a company that was established in 1977 to provide a turnkey service to the foundry industry, Orthos Project’s first order and project was for a mixing and batching plant for roof tile mortar. This plant along with many others supplied by Orthos stills stands and operates today producing some 7200 tiles per hour. The Eirich Mixer used on the plant was supplied and free issued by the client; this was a second hand used mixer that became available from a plant shutdown overseas. Before the mixer could be installed it was completely stripped down, with all the assemblies repaired as necessary, and subject to a complete nut and bolt rebuild in our workshop.
Following commissioning the client was left safe in the knowledge that the mixer would perform and produce roof tile mortar as per the specification issued. After 35-years this mixer and batching plant is still producing mortar to the required specification and exacting standards required by the client.
Orthos Projects have a long standing relationship with the major roof tile manufacturers in the UK providing them with various process systems including, mixing and batching plants, drag-out belt feeders, belt conveyors, batch weighing, water weigh tanks, pigment weighing and dosing, loss in weight feeders, silos, bin activators and bin dischargers, screw conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems, lean phase, dense phase full pipe systems, vacuum conveying, micro ingredient weigh feeders, bucket elevators, vibratory feeders and used second hand rebuilt Eirich mixers.
The above statement is testament to the Orthos approach to each and every plant we design, supply and install, whether it is a small plant upgrade or a complete process plant; listening to the client’s needs, requirements and specifications, we apply our knowledge and expertise to produce a system without compromise on quality that is second to none.
